Peanut Butter Chocolate Chips Cookies Recipe

Do we need the favor of fortune for success or luck really is blind? Let’s make Peanut butter chocolate chip cookies and see!

Life is full of unexpected discoveries. It doesn’t mean that people just stumble upon something while walking down the road but rather actively seeking a solution for a problem and among many failures a viable solution emerges.

Are discoveries pure luck?

Like in the case when Colombus discovered the Americas. Although he believed, he had found Asia, he was utterly convinced that it’s possible to do so. Of course, he didn’t just get the idea out of thin air.

He was a learnt man who was familiar with the movements of stars and navigation. Not to mention, he knew about the works of ancient Greek philosophers too, who hundreds of years before his time established the fact that the Earth is round and some like Eratosthenes, came pretty close to calculating its circumference.

Unluckily for Colombus, he wasn’t familiar with Eratosthenes works but only with later scholars who made some mistakes during their calculations and predicted that the Earth was much smaller than actually it was.

Is luck really blind?

It all turned out well at the end but sometimes people are looking for a solution for something and find something else, like it was the case with penicillin; that was a result of a sloppy laboratory cleaning or rather not cleaning before a long weekend.

Even dead ends could lead somewhere, like it is the case of gun powder that was invented by Chinese Taoists in the search of the elixir of life. No one has succeeded since then finding the elixir, yet gun powder conquered the world in every sense of the word.

Once an invention unlocks a door of possibilities, the human mind inherently wanders eager to discover all its secret nooks and crevices. Many times, it takes a fairly long time to fully understand its nature and achieve the next evolutionary step, like it was the case with nitroglycerin, the base for Dynamite.

What is it made of?

It took quite an effort and cost many lives for Alfred Nobel to stabilize the liquid explosive that although sounds quite an exotic technology, yet its main ingredient nowadays is none other than the humble legumes from the Americas, the Peanut.

It seems that everyone’s favorite is not just for spreading between jelly and bread or spooning it up in a hidden corner of the kitchen after all.

Where do peanuts come from?

But peanuts themselves come from a long way on the road of human history. Originally from the tropical part of the American continent, peanuts are grown in many places and enjoyed globally as a snack or serious protein source.

It was an important crop in South America and used by the Aztecs and Incas in the US, it was way less appreciated for way too long. Once it grew out of its status as a colonial era garden crop or animal fodder, it made a candidate in the Southern American States to be recommended as an alternative protein source.

Who invented chocolate chips peanut butter cookies?

From then on, its raise to stardom was unstoppable but the real breakthrough came with the invention of peanut butter which is a little more than just ground and roasted peanut but not by much.

As much as chocolate peanut butter cookies aren’t much more than peanut butter cookies with chocolate chips. Yet, those little hardly noticeable differences are that moved the world forward day after day, allowing us to know the world and the chocolate chip peanut butter cookies in it!
