How icons are born out of emptiness reaching heights unknown before? Burgers have much to tell us about the big things of life bite by bite.

Behavioral scientists have observed that icons were not just born out of thin air. Sure, they need to have something extra to step out into the spotlight to be noticed but they aren’t supermassive black holes that gravity makes everything revolve around them.

Do black holes like burgers?

Well, actually the analogy of black holes are much more fitting than a simple exaggeration to make a point. Black holes are actually not holes in the fabric of the Universe -or at least not in the traditional sense of holes- but tightly packed masses.

As everything that has a mass be that planets, humans or sesame seeds has gravitational pull. The tighter the given things are packed, the more mass can fit into the same space with all the gravity of the masses. Earth, for example, would be an inch sized ball if we could compress all its mass into a black hole.

How did people start to like burgers?

When movements form around people or rather ideas of people, the more people join in, the more people will be pulled to take part in it too. Behavioral science has very little to do with actual gravity though.

When one weirdo starts to move strangely to certain kind of music no one pulls into the dancefloor making the same movements. People are standing outside the event horizon, observing the situation, trying to decide if joining the dance is safe or social suicide.

When a couple of others who are mesmerized by the movements (and maybe some mind-altering substances) join in, the rest of the observers are getting signals that moving like this is not only acceptable but encouraged if one wants to be part of that group.

How did burgers spread?

These first batch of people so called early adopters are the most important piece of the puzzle. These are the apostles who do not only translate the thoughts of the leader to the later coming members of the tribe but also take great part in defining the movement.

Once people with high social reputation among the observers join to such group, they pull in with them the masses that are necessary to grow from a one person show to a massive global movement. So, as it seems that becoming a weird dance into a global phenomenon is almost as hard as becoming a black hole, but both dwarf the difficulties of a food item establishing a global presence.

It seems that Coca Cola is particularly good at doing that, making its operation more effective than some of the countries medicine supply chain, but burgers aren’t far behind the line either.

Are burgers invincible?

Although burgers had a couple of pretty rough years in the hands of the health conscious, they live their golden age now. Countless gourmet places offer deliciously nutritious burgers that suits any followers from vegan to carbs free diet.

But burgers aren’t the best in restaurants as anyone with a BBQ can surely agree with that. Although a bit of smoke and some fresh air certainly dresses a patty into a distinctive flavor, it’s not the only way to prepare a burger.

Nor high carb burger buns are the only way to serve them.

If we can’t let the past go then we can simply pull on our baking gloves and easily prepare low carb keto burger buns from our favorite low carb flour. But if couldn’t care less about buns then simply wrapping the whole burger into salad leaves with all the sauces, cheese and stuff, provides a surprisingly similar flavor as we all love and adore.
