Many of us take great care of our health or at least those who bound to live up to 100 years. As it’s with life, some detours occur but they say the man who will live 140 years has already born so one can dream, right?
How long can we live sipping blueberry smoothie?
Although it would be better to live that long while sipping from the well of youth with a smile of an 18-year-old, not everybody would be happy to wear their teenager face for life.
Just think about that an entire industry of great body transformation would come down from Instagram in pieces. There wouldn’t be magic creams promising non-wrinkled faces overnight nor pills making flat stomach without suffering.
It sounds like a requiem for a dream, but one can hope for a brave new world. Until then we can only hope and try our best with what we have.
Is blueberry smoothie good for us?
Smoothies are one of the healthiest foods that has been sent among us to solve all of humanities problems. Or at least we would be thrilled if only believing in such a mantra could really be true.
However, raw fruits and especially vegetables are not only good but necessary part of our diet, otherwise we can’t get essential nutrients for our body to function, blending them together with all sort of other ingredients may have the opposite effect what we would like to achieve.
Stores selling smoothies are especially guilty about marketing smoothies as healthy drinks while pumping it full of sugar to make it more appealing to its customers. Afterall who wouldn’t like to be healthy and have a nice sweet jug of iced drink.
What does blueberry smoothie do to us?
Unfortunately, there are very few healthy pleasures out there and even less so that are made by man. Although smoothies contain raw fruit and vegetables, they aren’t anywhere near to the experience of chewing down the same amount of fruit or vegetables.
It’s not a coincidence that we can slurp down a lovely jug of smoothie made of a bowl of raw stuff while we feel full after eating a single apple. It’s true that we get all the vitamins from the rawness, but we also immediately get all of the sugars that are released by the blades from the fibers of the fruit and vegetables.
In a metabolism point of view having a fruit packed smoothie isn’t much better than having a coke as both can contain the same amount of calories and free sugar, hence both increases the stress on our body by forcing the pancreas to quickly increase insulin production to bring the sudden peak of the blood’s sugar level down to normal.
How to make blueberry smoothie better?
While adding some protein like milk, Greek yogurt or the kings of protein, cottage cheese help curfew the bloods glycemic index and adds much needed protein to our diet, we should be aware of that gulping down a pint of smoothie a day alone won’t make us Schwarzenegger.
Smoothies as all good things should be consumed in moderation and only as a part of a holistic approach to our health that contains some sort of vigorous heart rate increasing exercise.
