Oreo Bread as kids favorite? How do I know and why am I so sure about it? Because I asked. This summer first time in my life, I have started a new adventure. I give some cooking or rather baking classes for kids. I have to tell you, kids looooove baking, kids love manipulating different materials and they don’t mind sticking their fingers into the dough or other sticky stuff. They love grating cheese. Kids could happily help you out in the kitchen and bold with you any time you ask. They are also able to follow step by step instructions, seriously! Not like some of us… (Including me… well… I’m quite a free spirit.) On the other hand, they are not too good at improvising. So they need to have easy to follow instructions. So this is what I’m going to write in the near future. Tried and tested recipes for kids, adults, parents and grandparents.

The cooking class adventure started for me by preparing a list of mostly desserts that was handed out to kids. After careful consideration, they ticked the ones they wanted to learn to bake during our classes. So this is how Oreo Bread came out as absolute winner of all.

This is how you make kids’ favorite, easy to prepare Oreo bread. Perfect snack for any summer or winter afternoon.

Kitchen utensils we’ll need:

  • 2 medium size mixing bowls
  • Egg beater
  • Kitchen scale or measuring cup
  • Wooden spoon
  • Cup
  • Tin loaf

Ingredients:

  • 300 g flour
  • 2 eggs
  • 100 g butter
  • 200 ml milk or water
  • Vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 100 g sugar
  • Half pocket of Oreo biscuits

How to make:

  1. Preheat oven to 180 °C / 356°F.
  2. Prepare tin loaf by covering it with butter and some flour or with baking paper.
  3. Measure the flour in a measuring cup.
  4. Mix baking powder and vanilla extract with the flour in a medium size mixing bowl.
  5. Measure the butter and mash it. In case it is too cold and hard to mash, slice it and put the butter slices into a small, microwave oven safe bowl. Pop it into the microwave oven (200W) for 20-30 seconds.
  6. When the butter is melted, mix it well with the flour and milk.
  7. Get a cup or a glass and break the eggs one by one. Be careful not to leave any pieces of egg shell in the cup.
  8. Pour eggs into a mixing bowl.
  9. Measure the sugar and pour it into the mixing bowl with the eggs.
  10. Beat the eggs with the sugar until light yellow.
  11. Start preparing the Oreo biscuits. Break them into little pieces to get Oreo chips.
  12. Pour beaten eggs into the flour mixture and fold in carefully.
  13. When it is completely mixed pour the Oreo chips into the pastry.
  14. Pour the mixture into the tin loaf and put them into the preheated oven for 40-50 minutes.
  15. Check it with a stick if it’s baked. (Push the stick into the pastry and if it comes out clean it is ready.)
  16. Leave it cool down before you slice it.

Enjoy this delicious snack with hot chocolate in winter or some smoothies in summertime.
